How to Install Street Glow Neon Hott Wirez on your Bike.

Instructions Part 2 (Hooking Up the Power And Testing)

- Well Assuming You Were Smart Enough to Get the Seat Off or at Least Find Your Battery at All, Now We Get to Hook Up the Power! :-)
- I Know This Sounds Very Contradictory, But the First Thing You DO NOT Want to Do is to Actually "Hook Up The Power".
- Here's the Reason Why: TESTING IT FIRST!
- When You Get the Transformer All Hard Wired In to Your Bike, I'd Hate to Be the One That Said, "I Told You So."
- Once You've Got Your Neon in Place, Plug It Into the Transformer.
- Then Take the Red Power Wire And Hold It on the Positive Post of the Battery. Don't Worry it's 12 Volts. Just Don't Lick The Negative Post LOL What I Did was Use the Red Rubber Battery Post Cover to Hold the Red Wire in Place, So I Didn't Even Have to Touch It.
- Hopefully Your At Least in Your Garage Or You've Got Your Bike in an Area Where There's Not A Lot of Light. This Will Help You Make the Decision on Whether Or Not Your Put Your Neon in a Good Place. That's Why We Use the Tape First :-)
- So Now Take the Ground Wire And Touch One of the Frame Bolts With It. We've Got Power! Now You Can Step Back And Take a Look At the Lights. Maybe You Can Trick Your GirlFriend/Wife Into Holding It While You Stand There for Several Really Long Minutes and Drool.
- If She's Holding It And Hasn't Gotten too Agitated, eep Drooling. Otherwise Assume the Fetal Position ;-)
- Now That You've Either moved the Wire Or You're Satisfied With Its' Current Position. Use the Crimpers and a Spaded Wire Connector to Connect the Red Power Wire to the Battery.
- Position Your On/Off Switch in an Accessible Area on the Left Side of the Bike. Why the Left Side You Ask. Well as if You Were Not Drawing Enough Attention to Yourself, if You Let Go of the Throttle With Your Right Hand, the Lights Drop And the Cop Thinks Your Speeding. Reaching Back With Your Left Hand, It Just Looks Like Your Stretching.
- Before You Actually Mount the Switch Measure Out Your Ground Wire From the Frame to the Position of the Switch. Also Make Sure You Have Enough Wire to Hook Up the Black Ground Wire From the Transformer. For This Wire, Leave Enough Slack For Future Cutting And Installation of the More Neon Wirez. Trust, You Will Always Want More Neon. Once you See the Benefits of the Light And All the Cages That See You Sooner.
- As Far as Mounting the Switch, That's What the Piece of the Inner Tube is For, So You Don't Ground the Switch on the Bike. I'm Not Exactly Sure What the Name of the Bar is, But It's Like 3/4" Square Bar That Holds Up the Seat And It Runs Up Under the Rear Fairing. This Enable Me to Conceal the Switch Under the Seat. All You Really See is the Top Little 1/8" of the Knob.
- Wrap the Inner Tube Around the Bar and Position It So the Edge Meat on the Inside of the Bar. It Looks Better That Way. Then Use 2 Cable Ties, Loosely Tightened, to Hold The Inner Tube in Place While You Position the Switch. I Used 2 More Cable Ties to the Switch.
- Here's a Suggestion, Place the Little Square Part of the Cable Ties as Far on the Inside of the Bike as You Can. If You Don't Everytime You Reach Back There to Turn It On Or Off, You're Gonna Be Really Pissed From Those Cut Cable Tie Ends Cutting Your Fingers.
- Wire It Up, Make All the Crimps And Connections. Then One Last Time Flip the Switch. If It's Working, You're Not Grounded on the Frame. Congrats.
- Now Take Some of Those Black Cable Ties And Tie down the Wires From the Transformer Inside the Battery Compartment. Don't Go Over Board. If You Decide to Install Another Neon Wire You're Going to Have to Cut All Those Cable Ties to Install the New Transformer Wires. Use the Same Color Cable Ties That the Factory Used, That Way It Resembles Stock.
